The aim of ACB Kenniscentrum is to support the emancipation and social activation of non-western immigrants. Since its foundation in 1980, ACB has worked with this community, which mostly consists of muslims. ACB wants to raise their standard of living by developing methods to enable participation in society, for example by stimulating the entry into language courses, professional education, volunteer work or employment. In addition, ACB wants to empower immigrant organisations in order to improve their organisational capacities and their participation in politics and government.
ACB’s main work area is the province of Noord-Holland. ACB provides entry to an extensive network of immigrant organisations, surveys of successful and inadequate policies, background information on immigrants from many countries, and almost 30 years of experience in public information, coaching and advice. The services of ACB are offered to immigrant organisations, social institutions, municipalities, the government, the media and to the public.
